An exciting new project for 2018 which may well be of interest to GARP members
MHL Newsflash!
We are delighted to formally announce our next major venture - MHL Cassino (The Battle of Cassino Project). www.mhlcassino.co.uk
This really exciting, long-term project involves the investigation of the archaeological features associated with the iconic Battle of Cassino in central Italy between 1943 and 1944, where some of the most ferocious fighting of WW2 occurred. For more information, please have a look at mhlcassino.co.uk . We expect huge interest in this project, as so many people were involved in the fighting from a large number of countries. If you are interested in finding out more, and maybe being involved as a volunteer, we are taking first-come first-served expressions of interest (with no obligation at this stage) via the Contact page on the website. www.mhlcassino.co.uk
You don’t have to be an historian, or an archaeologist, or have any previous experience of this type of work - this is a new form of adventure tourism where experts and enthusiasts work together to unearth and reveal the amazing history.
Please also share to any groups you belong to who may have relatives that were involved in the fighting there. (It’s astonishing how many people we have spoken to already that have said ‘my father/grandfather etc fought there’) - this is a chance to be part of the team documenting this fascinating history for posterity.
Please re-share to any/all interested friends and groups - thanks
